What to check before you roll out Copilot
Copilot can make your people faster. It can also expose information they were never meant to see.
Before deploying Copilot broadly, it's worth understanding what it will be able to reach.
What success looks like
Copilot deployed with confidence, not crossed fingers
- Permissions remediated before rollout
- Sensitive information labelled and protected
- Licences allocated to the roles that benefit most
- Clear acceptable-use policy for staff
- Adoption support so people actually use it
- Measured productivity outcomes
What Microsoft 365 Copilot does — by application
Copilot is not a separate product you log into. It sits inside the applications your team already uses every day.
Copilot in Word
Draft, rewrite, and summarise documents. Ask Copilot to write a first draft from bullet points, rewrite in a different tone, or summarise a long document into key points.
Copilot in Excel
Analyse data, generate formulas, and create charts. Ask Copilot to identify trends, explain anomalies, or build a PivotTable from natural language instructions.
Copilot in PowerPoint
Create presentations from Word documents or prompts. Copilot generates slide layouts, content, and speaker notes from a brief description.
Copilot in Outlook
Summarise email threads, draft replies, and manage your inbox. Copilot reads long email chains and writes contextually appropriate responses in your tone.
Copilot in Teams
Summarise meetings, capture action items, and search conversation history. Copilot generates structured meeting summaries with decisions and owners within minutes of a meeting ending.
Copilot in SharePoint
Search and surface documents across your organisation. Ask Copilot “what does our security policy say about password requirements?” and get the relevant clause without manually searching.
What you need before deploying Microsoft 365 Copilot
- 1
The right licence
Microsoft 365 Business Premium, E3, or E5 base licence plus the Copilot add-on at $54.20 AUD/user/month. Business Basic and Business Standard do not qualify.
- 2
A clean Microsoft 365 environment
Copilot accesses everything the user can access. Overpermissioned SharePoint, missing sensitivity labels, and guest access issues become data exposure risks the moment Copilot is enabled. An AI readiness assessment identifies and remediates these before deployment.
- 3
An AI governance policy
Staff need clear guidance on how to use Copilot responsibly, what outputs require human review, and how to handle Copilot-generated content in client communications. Mycelium 365 provides an AI acceptable use policy template as part of every Copilot deployment.

How Mycelium 365 deploys Microsoft 365 Copilot
AI Readiness Assessment
We assess your SharePoint permissions, sensitivity labels, licensing, and AI governance readiness. You receive a written report with a readiness score and remediation plan before a single Copilot licence is purchased.
Environment remediation
We fix the gaps identified in the assessment — SharePoint permissions, DLP policies, sensitivity labels, Intune device compliance. Your environment is Copilot-ready before deployment begins.
Copilot deployment and training
We deploy Copilot licences, configure Copilot settings in the Microsoft 365 admin centre, deliver role-specific training for your team, and establish a 30-day adoption review to ensure staff are using Copilot productively.
